Antelope Valley Unites to Honor Its Veterans

Across Lancaster and Palmdale, the community came together this week to honor local heroes with ceremonies, parades, and special events marking Veterans Day 2025. The AV Wall, a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, held its final public display at the Palmdale Amphitheater after 16 years of service.

The memorial has become a cornerstone of reflection for thousands of Antelope Valley residents. Families, veterans, and local students attended closing ceremonies that celebrated those who gave their lives and those still living among us who served with honor.

City officials are now considering long-term preservation options to keep this legacy alive for future generations. Learn more about the event and its legacy at palmdaleamphitheater.com.

Residents Celebrated at The Havens Community Event

Dozens of Antelope Valley residents gathered at The Havens for a celebration that honored community involvement and the power of connection. The event featured local performers, family activities, and recognitions for volunteers helping seniors and youth throughout Lancaster and Palmdale. Coverage by AV Press highlighted the energy of the day, showing how civic pride continues to thrive in the high desert.

Community events like this one reinforce the heart of the valley — neighbors helping neighbors. Residents are encouraged to visit the City of Palmdale community programs page for upcoming events.

California City Renews 10-Year GPS Lease to Upgrade Infrastructure

The California City Council voted this week to extend its GPS system lease for another decade, enabling better tracking and coordination of municipal services such as road maintenance, public safety, and water infrastructure.

Officials said the lease extension would modernize city systems and improve efficiency, helping streamline emergency response and logistics for a growing community. The renewed focus on infrastructure marks a step forward for the region as it prepares for future development and tech-driven city management.
