Holiday Food Support Across the Antelope Valley
This week several partners across the Antelope Valley are offering holiday food support for families who need a little extra help. Community food banks in Palmdale and Lancaster are distributing pantry boxes that include staples such as rice, pasta, canned vegetables and proteins.
Many locations are welcoming walk in visitors while supplies last with some sites asking people to bring a photo ID or proof of address. Families are encouraged to arrive early and to bring reusable bags or a cart to carry items home.
For a current list of food banks, hours and locations, go to the Food and Groceries section at GoodMorningAV.com. You will find local partners such as city resource centers, churches and community organizations that serve the Antelope Valley year round.

The Palmdale Community Resource Center is offering walk in support today for residents who have questions about housing, benefits and basic needs. Staff and partner advocates are available to help people connect with rental assistance programs, CalFresh food benefits and utility support.
People can also get referrals to youth and adult programs including job training, mental health support and after school activities. Many services are free or low cost for qualifying households.

Youth and Young Adult Opportunities Through Local Programs
Several youth focused programs in the Antelope Valley are preparing for winter sessions that include tutoring, arts, sports and job readiness. Local organizations are encouraging parents and young adults to register early so they do not miss spots.
Opportunities include homework help, digital skills workshops, college and career guidance and community service projects that allow young people to give back while building experience. Many programs are free for qualifying families or offer sliding scale fees.
