Free Food Distribution at Palmdale S.A.V.E.S.

The Palmdale S.A.V.E.S. (Serving All Vulnerable & Economically Struggling) site on East Avenue Q-12 opens at 11am today for a community food distribution drive. The event offers fresh produce, canned goods and turkey vouchers. Walk-ups are welcome, and no appointment is required.

Families in the Antelope Valley are encouraged to arrive early while supplies last.

Youth Basketball Clinic in Lancaster

From 2pm until 4pm today at the Lancaster Teen Center on Division Street, the City of Lancaster Recreation Department hosts a free basketball clinic for middle and high school students. Gear and instruction are provided at no cost.

This is part of a larger push to increase youth physical activity and mentorship across the valley.

14 Freeway Lane Closure Tonight

Starting at 8pm tonight, the southbound 14 Freeway near Avenue M will have a scheduled lane closure for repaving. Drivers heading into Lancaster are advised to use the left lane early to avoid backups and consider alternate routes if traveling after sunset.

The work is expected to conclude by early morning Saturday, but reduced speeds and cone zones remain in place.
